My engineering class was divided into teams and given specific design criteria including size and use of the robotic arm. Pretty much we had to lift a pepsi bottle over an 11" barrier and set it down on a specific target. The claw and arm were made completely of popsicle sticks and syringes. Ours was near the top in most everything but the looks.
